A new year brings new challenges for us all. The health service are stretched as never before with their staff off sick, isolating or really exhausted. The government are balancing the needs for public physical health and well being and the ever-increasing concern over mental health issues. Loneliness, furlough, job loss, job insecurity, career concerns (from the adolescents through to the older workforce who have lost jobs), financial security (with bills, rents and mortgages to pay) - what a challenge!
God knows our needs but do we recognise our need of Him? He listens. He wants to hear from you. He wants to know you with all your concerns and worries!
Please pray for all our people: our loved ones, our neighbours, our colleagues, the wider local community and those who work to keep essential services running. Our health service workers are already suffering from pressures and need our concern, love and prayers. Pray also for the government as they make so many difficult choices. Pray for those who cannot see a way forward from the financial strains that appear to be crushing them. God loves each and everyone of us.
A prayer for all those affected by coronavirus
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
